Are there priority seats for passengers with reduced mobility?
Passengers with reduced mobility can book their preferred type of seat on the flight if they wish. Only passengers who are fully wheelchair-dependent are automatically assigned a window seat on the plane and cannot book their type of seat themselves.
An international aviation regulation states that people, with any physical disorder whatsoever, can never be seated near an emergency exit (these are the seats that offer more leg space). This was determined based upon safety considerations with regard to the potential evacuation of the aircraft. Even if you present a medical certificate, we cannot allow this.
Passengers with reduced mobility may not occupy seats where their presence:
- interferes with cabin crew carrying out their duties correctly.
- impedes access to emergency equipment.
- hinders emergency evacuation of the aircraft.
