TUI FLY & PARTNERS
TUI fly operates in several countries and flies across the globe. We have our own large fleet of course, but sometimes even that is not enough. During busy holiday periods and the summer season, we lease additional aircraft from our regular leasing partners. That way, we can make sure that everyone can travel with TUI. TUI fly does not fly to all destinations that TUI offers as a tour operator. For some destinations, you will fly with another airline. That is what we call our partner airlines.
TUI fly
The TUI fly fleet consists of more than 150 aircraft globally. The in-cabin service and the cockpit are run by TUI’s own flight crews. If you fly on a Belgian plane, our crew will speak French, Dutch and English.
There is more information on our fleet and on-board service here.
Leasing partners
During holiday periods, demand is very high. To meet this additional demand, TUI fly leases aircraft from regular partners. The service on board is similar. At least part of the flight crew is always from TUI so there are always French and Dutch-speaking staff on board. There is more information on our leasing partners and on-board service below.
We sometimes encounter a technical failure or unforeseen circumstances which means we have to arrange a leased aircraft at the last minute. That might mean that the cabin crew may be provided by the leasing partner and may not speak Dutch or French.
Partner Airlines
TUI fly does not fly to all the destinations that we offer as a tour operator. We also want to offer you more departure times and days than what we can actually perform ourselves. We can do that thanks to our regular Partner Airlines. If you fly with one of our Partner Airlines, this means that your flight will be operated by another airline. It is then that airline that will arrange cabin crew and the on-board service. This sometimes also applies to checking in or adding baggage. Find out more about our Partner Airlines on this page.
Leasing partners
Summer means holiday. These are the months when we bring the largest number of passengers to their holiday destinations with our fleet. Sometimes, that can be quite a puzzle making sure everyone enjoys a nice holiday, all at the same time. Unfortunately, we cannot keep aircraft in our hangars waiting for the peak season. That is why we lease aircraft from partner airlines to cover these peaks. This way, we make sure everyone can travel during the same period.
What does this mean for you?
The outside looks a little different... the quality is the same. Just what we expect from our leasing partners. So, the on-board service is similar to the TUI service found on our own TUI fly aircraft. We make sure our own cabin crew comes along, so you can always ask questions or make comments on board in your own language.
Unforeseen circumstances
On rare occasions, we have to lease another aircraft at the very last minute. Such as in unforeseen circumstances like strikes, delays or if one of our aircraft suffers a breakdown. That might mean that the cabin crew may be provided by the leasing partner and may not speak Dutch or French. The on-board service may then also differ from our TUI service.
Seat reservation and online check-in
Our leasing partners fly under our own TB flight number. That means that you cannot tell from the flight number who is operating the flight. Reserving a seat and checking in online before departure is done in the same way.
Safety and maintenance
We as TUI fly of course guarantee the safety of our passengers. That is why we work with partners who meet all safety requirements. In addition, the Belgian government also monitors this strictly. Our leasing partners carry out their maintenance at the home base of our TUI aircraft.
Our leasing partners
For this season, TUI fly has signed contracts with parties that we have worked with for some time. They have in the past already proven that they offer the same quality we expect from ourselves. This overview shows which partners we work with, which aircraft they fly, and what you can expect in terms of service.
Smartlynx
We have been working with this airline from Estonia for several years. Over this period, Smartlynx has shown that they provide a good service, and our customers are satisfied with the quality. That is why they are flying for TUI fly again this season.

Partner Airlines
So many people, so many wishes... also in terms of holiday destinations. Thanks to cooperation with our Partner Airlines, our holiday offer is very extensive. Whether you are booking a city break or a single flight: TUI can help you with all your holiday needs. Even for destinations that we ourselves do not fly to. For that, we purchase seats from our Partner Airlines. We obviously only work with airlines that can live up to our TUI service. Because even when we do not run the flight ourselves, we want you to get to your destination feeling comfortable and safe. Are you flying with another airline? If so, you will probably have a different seat, menu or entertainment system on board. Making seat reservations or booking extra baggage is also slightly different. To make this as easy as possible, we will inform you about this before departure. Our staff are of course at your service should you have any questions.
What does this mean for you?
The outside looks a bit different, but the quality is the same. The on-board service may be different from our own TUI fly flights, but the level of service is the same as what you would expect from TUI. The airline's website will tell you what service you can expect on the flight you booked.
Seat reservation and online check-in
Our Airline Partners fly under their own flight number. That means that this varies depending on the airline. That means that you cannot tell from the flight number who is operating the flight. The booking process sometimes gives you a choice of airlines. If there is no choice, you will recognise the airline by the flight number, or it will be listed on the travel documents. Seat reservations, additional baggage booking, and online check-in are done through the airline you booked with. In the overview below, you will find the website links for our Partner Airlines. Do not forget to check the airline's app. By using their apps, you will always have the most up-to-date information about your flight.
Safety and maintenance
We work with partners who meet all safety requirements. In addition, the Belgian government also monitors this strictly. Our leasing partners maintain their aircrafts at the home base of the respective airline.
